Given the vital human right of access to good health, the Save the NHS campaign had a presence, as did the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign (PSC), and the plight of the Rohingya refugees, from the genocide in Myanmar. Bangladesh Tree Planting
UNA Eastbourne’s Vice-Chair, Mozmil Hussain spent the month in Syhlet region initiating a tree-planting programme, centred on specific trees, including the iconic Milicia excelsa, to alleviate some of the environmental damage in Bangladesh due to climate change. Arrangements were made to dispatch 100,000 M.excelsa seeds from Uganda to Bangladesh, with phytosanitary certification. (Footnote: by extraordinary coincidence the worst floods in Syhlet occurred just after our Vice-Chair returned to UK. As a consequence of the floods the sole surviving M.excelsa in Bangladesh was uprooted, which was reported in the national press in Bangladesh.
